After personally struggling with my own breastfeeding journey, watching as our youngest son struggled with eating, drinking, sleeping, and speech, and hearing things like “You just aren’t able to produce enough milk” and “It’s normal for kids to grind their teeth and snore” I knew there had to be something that would actually get to the root of the issues, not just put a bandaid on them. In the middle of being a mom to two, a military spouse, and my dental career, I realized that a large majority of the population struggles with oromyofunctional disorders and the sometimes devastating affects they can cause. As both an expanded functions dental assistant and registered dental hygienist, I have had the opportunity to work in many specialties, from cosmetics, to pediatrics, to orthodontics. I have also earned my Bachelor of Psychology, taking up interest in how the mind works and why humans behave the way that they do. I have always been passionate about natural health care and being your own best advocate.
Over the years, my interest for growth and development, airway health, and holistic health has grown. Through much research, continuing education, and training, I have seen the negative affects improper growth can have on the body as a whole. I have also seen how proper intervention can change that. I wish I was aware of Myofunctional Therapy 10 years ago when we so desperately needed it, but there is no reason others should suffer like we did. At OhioMyo Myofunctional Therapy, it is my mission to help you find real solutions to common problems affecting everyday life. We help grow faces here - and in turn, you gain the chance to live your best life.
